At the Folsom Street Fair (Sunday, September 30th), the world's best and biggest leather party, make sure to stop by Julie's Supper Club (Folsom at 7th) for an ALL-DAY FREE STRANGELOVE! Resident Tomas Diablo and special guests Skip (New Wave City), Starr (Bondage-a-Go-Go), Shatter (Die Maschinen), Fact50 (Less Than Zero), Mike W. (RetroActive), and Orko (Shark Attack) will be spinning all your favorite dark electro, industrial, new wave and goth music from Noon until Midnight. Remember - when the fair ends at 6, the party continues at Strangelove - with a FREE BAR-B-QUE after 7PM!
Make sure to come back on Friday, October 5th, when Strangelove pays tribute to the Cure (on the eve of their only Bay Area appearance this year) with Tomas Diablo and guest DJ John (New Wave City).
Strangelove is first Fridays at Julie's Supper Club (7th and Folsom). The spacious dancefloor is in a separate room from the gorgeous bar and lounge, so you always have the option to dance or to enjoy drinks and conversation in the lounge. Julie's also has parking available in the Jiffy Lube lot next door (just ask our doorperson for a parking pass or you could get towed)!

Re: Folsom Street Fair Party - FREE and ALL DAY!!!
Fri, September 28, 2007 - 9:04 AMThis year, Strangelove IS the 'darker side of Folsom'. That's right - there's no party at the DNA. Strangelove will be the only "spooky" event at the Fair!!!
Looking forward to seeing you all there this Sunday! -

Re: Folsom Street Fair Party - FREE and ALL DAY!!!
Fri, September 28, 2007 - 10:22 AMOh yes, we will be there... hiding from/enjoying the fair, as necessary.

Re: Folsom Street Fair Party - FREE and ALL DAY!!!
Sat, September 29, 2007 - 1:28 PMA little clarification:
Parking will NOT be available in the Jiffy Lube lot during the Folsom Street Fair, since Folsom will be closed to traffic. Parking may or may not be available in the lot after the fair, based on when the lot is cleared of stuff from the fair. Street parking on Folsom itself opens up at 10PM. Street parking in the surrounding areas should get much easier after 8PM. -

Re: Folsom Street Fair Party - FREE and ALL DAY!!!
Mon, October 1, 2007 - 12:50 PMI had a great time at the fair. I was drinking slow and steady all day. Around 7, I acheived the perfect level of intoxication. Woohoo! Today I'm exhausted and my ankles aren't happy about the big stompy boots I wore for 12 hours. I won't be wearing those on Friday!
What was the favorite thing people saw at the fair? Mine was the furry they were flogging and then they pulled his ears back! -

At first I was worried for the guy... it was early in the day, and it was pretty hot in the sun even if you're NOT a guy in a black and red dog furry suit. But then he held on to the bondage cross for a flogging, so I figured he was more than fine. Woof!

Mine would have to be the '20 years of Madonna in 20 minutes'. That was hilarious - so many quick changes! And while the street was wall-to-wall people, we got to watch it from the window at Julie's... in the shade and with drink in hand. -

Re: Folsom Street Fair Party - FREE and ALL DAY!!!
Tue, October 2, 2007 - 5:01 PMI LOVE 20 years of Madonna in 20 minutes! I've been seeing that for years! but last time I saw it I think it was 15 years in 15 minutes....LOL gotta catch up!

Re: Folsom Street Fair Party - FREE and ALL DAY!!!
Mon, October 1, 2007 - 6:38 PMYes, thanks for the tunes and shelter! Just what I needed yesterday.
I think the best thing I saw was a very elderly couple in full hawaiian shirt, camera-around-the-neck, touristy regalia that looked like they were thinking that they must've taken a wrong turn at Albequerque. Or maybe they came just for the fair?

Re: Folsom Street Fair Party - FREE and ALL DAY!!!
Mon, October 1, 2007 - 3:51 PMI feel like I should make a T-shirt or a button that says "I survived the Folsom Street Fair". Wow... that was quite a marathon Strangelove.
Big thanks to our guests Mike W., Orko, Skip, Shatter, and Fact50 (sadly, Starr could not attend, but we love her anyway). And a humbled "we're not worthy" for sound technician/bouncer/deviant Tony. Thanks also to the staff at Julie's. Next year, though, don't panic when 500 people show up and ask about the free bar-b-que (I hope the impromptu "Diablo Private Party" sign didn't dissuade anyone). Just smile and keep them hot dogs coming.
See you on Friday at our tribute to the Cure with DJ John (New Wave City).
