Best... Strangelove... EVER! Since moving to the Cat Club, our attendance has been hovering at just under 200 people. This month we broke the record with 250 people, and 66 of those people took advantage of the free admission before 10PM (another record). A lot of them were first timers - not just people who have never been to Strangelove before, but people who have never been to the Cat Club before! Some had never been to a goth club before!

But numbers alone didn't make this Strangelove the best one yet. There was quantity AND QUALITY. The crowd was amazing - everyone was smiling and dancing and singing along and obviously having a great time. There's nothing quite like DJing for a happy crowd that actually cheers when I mix in a song that they like. Of course, I can't take full credit for the night's music - much thanks and respect to guest DJ Melting Girl for keeping the vibe going and playing some of my favorites. I look forward to Melting Girl DJing in the back room with me again in October at Strangelove's 'Undead Wedding'.

In case anyone was counting, the final tally of Depeche Mode tracks is 30 (including Martin L. Gore's "Compulsion"). Yep - we LOVE Depeche Mode. And NOBODY does a Depeche Mode tribute like Strangelove.

I hope to see you on September 5th, when Strangelove pays tribute to Nine Inch Nails in the back room with Tomas Diablo and guest DJ Fernando, and for the first time we will feature DJs in the front room - DJs Fact50 and Prince Charming focusing on classic goth and new wave (while Fernando and I focus on electro-industrial in the back).
